Maryanne is a professional writer and training consultant. She offers a wide range of skills and expertise to any project environment.
Her background is in Education and the Arts. In the early parts of her career, she worked as a secondary school teacher, voiceover artist and actor. Teaching and mentoring teenagers led to her becoming a published author of teenage fiction.
Her next discovery was the corporate world. She started as a training consultant and professional writer – there she could plan and design training, develop learning materials and facilitate learning sessions. She also became a technical writer and process analyst.
As a training manager and facilitator, she is most proud of roles that allow her to share knowledge and contribute to empowering people in their working lives.
She works with government departments and the private sector to develop a wide range of Training Needs Analysis, Training Plans and Train the Trainer Plans, along with training collateral, ensuring the delivery of streamlined training of trainers and training events.
For over 12 years, Maryanne has provided instructional design support – working on a wide range of Defence logistics courses, from project development stages through Train the Trainer and delivery of training in the classroom. The Defence systems she has worked with include PIMS, MILIS, WMS, AIMS, FLMS, PILS and PMkeyS. Both PIMS and WMS are SAP products. Whilst working on Defence projects, she has documented and published 2 volumes of the Defence Supply Chain Manual (ESCM).
Maryanne currently works as a trainer and facilitator with Lumify People in Melbourne. She delivers a full suite of logistics courses to the Defence logistics community across Australia.
In addition to training, she enjoys work in which she can sit in a corner and be a nerdy technical writer – gathering data, analysing it and delivering. This is reflected in the project documentation support she provides.
She communicates with subject matter experts to identify and document policies, processes and procedures. She works with stakeholders to negotiate, agree and document high-level policy and develops relevant procedures that ensure the support of identified policies. Over her career, she has delivered policy and procedure to a wide range of clients including the Department of Defence, Holden Ltd and Russell Kennedy Solicitors. She contributed to the achievement of ISO accreditation for private investigators Ron Camp and Associates.
Maryanne also delivers a full suite of professional writing services under the banner of Wordswritten Pty Ltd. Examples of her work include – preferred supplier for all professional writing services for Siemens Australia; weekly technology article for Telstra website; video marketing and eLearn scripts for Coles Pty Ltd.
