MCP SPO L2 Project Support Officer

About the Position

Lumify People are looking for an experienced Defence Level 2 Project Support Officer to provide Program and Product Support to the SPO and L4 Project Manager. In this role you will be:

  • Providing operational support to project management and facilitate administrative and coordination requirements

  • Developing and maintaining the project planning and processes in accordance with agreed procedures and performance standards

  • Applying project management methodologies to administrative and technical activities

  • Supporting the planning and managing of project Risk Reduction Activities

  • Working collaboratively, operating as an effective team member and providing constructive feedback.

  • Engaging with relevant stakeholders and understanding their expectations and concerns

  • Assessing and adjusting project management methodologies to comply with legislative, policy and regulatory frameworks

  • Resolving problems using expertise and taking the initiative to identify alternative courses of action.

  • Assisting with the assurance, governance, and performance management of commercial contracts

  • Ensuring project controls are relevant and efficient and measure contract performance against KPI’s

  • Maintaining reports and attend meetings as required.

  • You will be accountable under broad direction to:

  • lPerform and achieve project work within an integrated workforce

  • Ensure you have knowledge of and compliance with legislative frameworks, government decision-making and Defence’s mission and policy requirements

  • Work independently and under supervision with the opportunity for reasonable autonomy and accountability for the achievement of outcomes of their work

  • Exercise both initiative and judgement in the interpretation of policy and in the application of practices and procedures

  • Provide detailed project technical, professional and policy advice in relation to complex work and contribute to strategic planning, program and project management and policy development

  • Set work priorities and manage workflows

  • Undertake stakeholder engagement and liaise with stakeholders in relation to complex issues.

  • Identify, anticipate and respond to stakeholders’ needs and expectations to achieve work unit and Defence outcomes

  • Contribute towards ongoing self-improvement and professional development.
