About the Position

Lumify People are looking for an experienced L3 Project Support Officer to support the Land 200 Phase 3 Battlefield Command System major acquisition project. The Project Support Officer is accountable to have and maintain a well-developed understanding of the Defence capability life cycle and broad CASG policy. You will also be required to maintain a thorough understanding and actively manage the production of the L200 Phase 3 artefacts to support critical milestones and committee processes.

You will be required to manage your own workflow and make independent decisions relating to your area of responsibility. You will interpret and provide advice within the project control function related to risk management, information management and schedule control. You will undertake specialist research and analysis, conduct reviews and perform procedural and administrative support work to achieve results.

The Project Support Officer will coordinate and contribute to the work of a team consistent to a work plan and provide advice and assistance on methods of task completion to team members. You are expected to be capable of reviewing and developing the quality of work undertaken by others and providing constructive feedback to project team members to achieve consistency of logic and quality of products to support the project. You will be required to engage and communicate with stakeholders to identify, respond and provide advice on issues to achieve project outcomes.

To be successful in this role you will require experience in:

  • Drafting and preparing briefs, complex correspondence and reports including submissions for committee consideration.

  • Producing work in an environment that requires accountability to lead the development and maintenance of project planning. This is in accordance with agreed procedures and performance standards.

  • One or more disciplines of risk management, information management and/or schedule control.

  • Engaging with project stakeholders to consolidate their requirements, capturing this information in order to meet overall project needs.

  • Driving workflow autonomously within the Project Controls team and provide additional assistance to areas during peak periods.

Essential Criteria
  • Excellent project support experience (5 years +) with a project management skillset

  • Previous experience in the CASG environment (or a major project)

  • Above or below the line project management experience

  • AQF Level 6 or higher in Project Management / IT or business background

  • Strong teamwork skills

  • Ability to work independently, digest new information, understand it’s directed and implied requirements and then engage in the development of critical documents for project milestones.

Desirable Criteria
  • Experience in engagement of relevant stakeholders and understand their expectations and concerns.

  • Experience with communications or ICT related projects.

  • Sound knowledge in ICT systems such as MS Office, Visio, MS Teams and Skype.
